A few days ago, this beautiful Grey Heron was watching the sunset.

Or maybe the bird was up to something else, such as hunting in the shallow waters around the wooden palisades in front of the activity center and the airstrip. :-)

Anyway. Alas, I had only a wide angle lens on my camera, and fetching a longer lens would have meant to lose both the bird posing as well as the light. So I needed to try to get very close to the mighty bird, I mean, like a few meters close. Astonishingly, it let me do this, so I got a few nice shots against the darkening sunset sky.
