YOUR LUXURIOUS GATEWAY TO FISH THE AMIRANTES

Get hooked on Fish at Desroches Island - where the big ones seldom get away but always live to swim another day!

Desroches Island, the main island of the Amirantes group is any fisherman's dream. The Amiranties, the largest atoll in Seychelles, houses abundant and diverse species within their coral reefs, transparent blue waters and dramatic drops. It is in this pristine natural  sanctuary that flagship game fish species such as the Marlin, Sailfish, Dog Tooth Tuna, Permit and Giant Travelly abound.

Desroches Atoll, as well as the neighbouring atolls of St Joseph and Poivre, are blessed with an exceptional array of pelagic and resident fish species, making it one of the must-do world-class fishing destinations. The diversity of the shoreline provides excellent opportunities for both deep sea fishing and on-shore fly-fishing.

Romance and fishy fights

However, what truly distinguishes Desroches Island as one of the most desirable fishing destinations in the world is the combination of abundant marine life and luxurious island accommodation alongside this aqua marine adventure. Desroches Island is the perfect destination for fishermen travelling with non-fishing partners and families - offering that exquisite contrast of lavish luxury and island romance versus fishy fights with teasers, tackle and species playing hard-to-get!

The Desroches Island fishing trips are unique in the sense that anglers have the opportunity to fish three atolls during their stay. The atolls are breathtakingly beautiful, particularly St. Joseph which is the largest, covering several square kilometres and comprising many small palm-covered islands and a lovely blue lagoon in the centre. There are more Bonefish on St. Joseph, but large schools of Indo Pacific Permit are also found on Le Poivre, together with Giant and Bluefin Trevally.
The nearby St Joseph Lagoon is a saltwater fisherman’s dream. Thanks to the remoteness of these atolls, they are virtually still unspoilt and thus provide a true angler’s bonanza.

Seasoned and novice fishermen alike can test their steel and technique against a huge variety of hard fighting challengers. Deep sea species range from Dogtooth Tuna, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna and Sailfish to Marlin, Dorado, Tropical Amberjack, Green and Rosy Jobfish, as well as a variety of Trevally, Snapper, Wrasse and Grouper.
